Abstract
Microplastic pollution from synthetic clothes has emerged as a major environmental concern with far-reaching implications. This research investigates the sources, mechanisms, and effects of microplastics shed during the synthetic textile lifespan, which includes manufacturing, usage, and disposal. It investigates the ways by which these microfibers enter ecosystems, collect in diverse environmental compartments, and endanger aquatic and terrestrial animals, as well as public health.
