This article provides an overview of the history and challenges faced by the Telugu Jewish community in India. The article highlights the diversity of India's cultural landscape and the challenges faced by minority communities, including the Jewish community, in preserving their cultural and religious identity. The article also introduces the Indian Jewish Heritage Centre, which was established in 2019 to showcase the history and culture of Indian Jews. The research design chosen for the study, which uses qualitative methods such as semi-structured interviews to explore the experiences and perspectives of Telugu Jews in South India. The article acknowledges the limitations of qualitative research and cautions against generalizing the findings to other Jewish communities in India or other minority communities facing similar challenges. The study identifies maintaining Jewish traditions and identity in a predominantly Hindu society as a key theme in the study.
