Abstract
understand their psyche better for a better study of this paper. The main focus of this paper is the variation of the Asian serial killers from real to reel using various
film theories like psychoanalytic film theory and cinematic realism. For this, popular culture theory is also applied to analyse the popularity of crime thrillers and serial killer films specially those inspired from real life event. Edward Said's Orientalism is applied to reason the lack of popularity of the Asian film compare to its Western counterparts. The evolution of the Asian serial killer films is added as an addition to the study to understand the outcome of the films and its impact on the society.
