Neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs) are a group of disorders that result in progressive loss of neurons and their functions. Currently, there is no cure for NDDs, and the available treatments are mostly focused on managing symptoms. However, natural products have shown promise as potential treatments for NDDs due to their ability to modulate multiple targets and their safety profile. In this review, we summarize the current state of research on natural products as potential treatments for NDDs, including their mechanisms of action, preclinical and clinical studies, and future directions. We highlight the potential of natural products as a source of novel therapeutics for NDDs and the need for further research to better understand their therapeutic potential.
