  Abstract

Introduction: India has a rural population of 900,239,774 for 2021 which is a 0.25% increase from 2020 who have no access to healthcare insurance and cannot afford tertiary healthcare in institutions or hospitals. The use of the Community Health Nursing Bag was started during the time of Florence Nightingale to meet the needs of people and provide basic care at their homes. Nurses do experience physical discomfort related to nursing bag utilization. Bag weight and stairs were two factors that influenced discomfort. Aim: The aim of the study was to assess the Utilization and Satisfaction of Community Health Nursing Bags among Fourth Year B.Sc. Nursing students. Methodology: In this study Quantitative Descriptive research design was used. A total of 100 respondents who met the sampling criteria were selected by purposive sampling technique. The data were collected using Rating Scale for both variables Utilization and Satisfaction among students of Fourth Year B.Sc. Nursing of selected colleges affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. Results: Results showed that 63 (63%) had Excellent Utilization of Community bags, 37 (37%) had Good Utilization and no one had expressed poor Utilization of Community bags. Regarding the Utilization of community bags, the overall Mean percentage was 81.15 %. 64 (64%) had moderately satisfied, 30(30%) were satisfied and 6 (6%) were inadequately satisfied with Community Health Nursing Bag. The mean percentage of the overall level of Satisfaction obtained is 65.16 %. The study found that there was a poor positive correlation between Utilization and Satisfaction. There was no significant association between Utilization and Satisfaction with selected Socio-Demographic variables like age, and gender for use of Community Health Nursing Bags. Conclusion: The study revealed that most of the respondents had Excellent Utilization of Community bags and Moderate Satisfaction among the respondents. So, there is a need to make modifications to the Community Bag.
