The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (LARR Act, 2013) ensures participative and transparent land acquisition, providing better compensation and rehabilitation for affected landowners. Historically, property rights in India were enshrined as fundamental rights under Articles 19(1)(f) and 31 of the Constitution.
