Abstract
History of Dalits is not seriously discussed at least in the context of Karnataka. most of the articles appeared on Dalits are either connected or related to more ideological debates since last three decades in Karnataka. this article, however intends to discuss some of the aspects of Dalits in the history of medieval Karnataka, especially issues related to caste hierarchy, habitation, slavery and occupation.
