Abstract
Youth unemployment and ways to tackle it are the pressing need for years to come, and ignoring its wide consequences imposes not only widespread social discontent, but also bears tremendous economic costs. Among the framework of potential strategies to augment employment avenues for young people, entrepreneurship is increasingly accepted as an important alternative. As traditional career paths become scarce, entrepreneurship may be regarded as an additional way of effectively integrating youth into the labour market. The present study is a short analysis of the various factors motivating and challenging young entrepreneurs of various prospects in carrying forward the business in Kerala. The study evidences clear contradictions to Neoclassical outlook of firm in theoretical notions and conclusions lay outside the framework of the black box firm.
