Kalamkari is a type of hand-painted or block-printed cotton textile, produced in Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Kalamkari is known to be a healing fabric, as the colours, motifs and the narration of magical forms create an aura that heals an individual physically and spiritually. The word �kalamkari� is a conjoint of kalam (pen) and kari (work). Most traditional crafts are labour-intensive and depend on locally available materials.
