The prevalence of hepatitis B virus in Africa is high due to the increase in risky activities such as needle stick injury, unprotected sex, transfusion of unscreened blood in some hospitals and injected drug users. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at Kampala International University Teaching Hospital (KIU-TH) in Ishaka sub-county, Bushenyi district in western Uganda between December, 2014 and January, 2015. The purpose of the study was to determine the sero-prevalence of Hepatitis B virus infection among preclinical students of Kampala International University western campus (KIU-WC) and also, to know medical students who were infected before enroll in medical school and those who will be found negative; they will be vaccinated before going into the clinical areas. A total of one hundred and fifty (150) research participants were recruited for the study using a standard and systematic sampling technique. Samples were collected from preclinical students of Medicine and surgery, Medical laboratory sciences, Nursing and Pharmacy department. All samples collected into a plain tube were allowed to clot and centrifuged to obtain serum; this is because, serum is the most preferred sample in serological testing for antigen and antibody dependent. Samples were tested for HBsAg with SD BIOLINE USA immune chromatographic rapid test strips with high sensitivity of 99.8% and specificity of 100%. Data on risk factors were collected using a structured closed ended questionnaire. The prevalence of HBV infection in this study was 4% which is lower among the preclinical students of KIU. The significance risk factors in this study were needle stick injury with p-value of 0.04 which is less than the alpha of (0.05) contact with blood is significance at p-value 0.01 and transfusion of blood at significance level of 0.01. There is need for preclinical student to know their HBV status and those tested negative be vaccinated and this will give a clear source of HBV infection among medical students.

Abstract: In daily life, for the people who are deaf, dumb and blind, the communication for them is difficult. They can only communicate in sign language which is very difficult to communicate among them and also with normal individuals. To avoid the obstruction, a glove is taken along with a MEMS Sensor attached to it. The Deaf, Dumb and Blind People only communicate in sign language accordingly. This becomes difficult when comes to communication with normal individuals. So, to prevent this, an electronic framework is developed with two switches and a glove with MEMS Sensor. When the glove is tilted or moved, the sensor detects and is fed into Arduino Uno and the pre-loaded command is played on the speaker through the voice IC and is displayed on the LCD. The Switch consists of four commands each. When the switch is swapped the respective commands will work.

Smart phones are not just becoming a part of our daily lives - but a part of each and every one of us. The presence of this handy device that holds the world just a touch away has been greatly significant and unavoidable in our standard of living. It is surprising to notice that an average person checks their phone 110 times a day, even without their knowledge or any reason. While the presence of smart phones has its mark, its absence has notable effects too. The objective of this paper discusses about how the term Nomophobia came into use, its symptoms and how it is related with Loneliness, FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) and how it affects an individuals personality and his/her mental health. A sample of 100 B.Ed. trainees were studied and no co relation among nomophobia and loneliness was seen. This study has used Independent t test using the Normative survey method. The questionnaire procedures had Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q) and Unidimensional Questionnaire ULS 8 where data has been taken from 75 undergraduates and 25 postgraduates of B.Ed. Other Statistics and facts have been taken from International Journal of Indian Psychology and Indian Journal of Psychological Medicine. Recent articles from year 2014 to 2019 have been taken for comparison of studies for this paper. The findings reveal that Nomophobia affects academic performance and daily activities among students and Working class. Loneliness, FOMO and Ringxiety are directly linked with Nomophobia. This paper also highlights the relationship between Nomophobia and Ringxiety, a new term used to describe phantom ringing syndrome. It also highlights how Nomophobia is prevalent in India and the interventions that can be used to prevent this.

The project is to develop a smart street lightening system based on the intensity of the traffic and also monitoring the environment to control the air pollution. By calculating the number of vehicles, we will come to know in which side the density is and the brightness of the street lights are adjusted according to that traffic density. Arduino UNO is used as a microcontroller which provides the signal timing based on the traffic density. The temperature and the humidity level of the air are monitored periodically for the environmental sustainability. The data are stored in cloud which are accessible through the web.

The paper attempts to describe escapism as a postmodern trend that materializes in the contemporary life of men, as observed in the 2013 movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The twenty first century marks a world of virtual realities, surface meanings and repetitive images produced with industrial precision. Humanity is enslaved in a vicious circle of capitalist commodification in turn demanded by artificially created retroactive needs. Escapism, is thus an inevitable coping mechanism devised to channel out the postmodern angst that burns inside all of humanity. The paper discusses through the character arch of the protagonist Walter, how the contemporary postmodern dilemma of existence is dealt with through escapist tendencies that positively materializes in the form of creative imagination, travel and a passionate purpose.

An ad hoc routing protocol is a standard, that controls how nodes decide which is a suitable path to route packets between computing devices in a mobile ad hoc network. In ad hoc networks, nodes are not aware of the topology of their networks. Instead, they have to discover it. Typically, a new node declares its presence and listens for declaration broadcast by its neighbors. Each node learns about others nearby and how to reach them and may announce that it too can reach them. Routing is one of the most fundamental areas of networking that an administrator has to know. Routing protocols determine how your data gets to its destination and help to make that process as smooth as possible.

Abstract This paper focuses on promoting love culture in the woes of terror. The paper sets out to look at violence as a real problem in human society. It was revealed from the analysis that, regardless of the joint effort among nations to avoid aggression, human society has recorded in addition to direct violence: war, murder, rape, abuse, verbal attacks, that is the kind we physically perceive, two other invisible types that cannot be eliminated without removing them, cultural violence and systemic violence. Direct violence has its origins in cultural and systemic aggression; it then enhances and feeds back. All three ways are interacting like triads. Specific violence leads to increased systemic and cultural aggression. We are caught in the process of viciousness which now threatens to kill life on earth. While some attempts have failed, the results examined that if civilization of Love is promoted and implemented, any degree of aggression will, to a large extent, be brought to an end. It was proposed that steps be taken to mitigate violence in order to prevent escalation of violence.

Spices have a very important role in the domestic & foreign market. Pepper, The King of Spices has a significant export orientation and it procures more than 40% of the foreign exchange earnings in spices export. At present pepper production shows the decreasing trend. Indias share in world pepper production declined from 23.69 percent in 1970 -1971 to 12.38 percent in 2016 2017. The study is confined to Idukki district only because most of the pepper production is from Idukki district. This study aims at provides an understanding of the structure and functioning of the pepper plantation and its development problems. The data and other information required for the study were collected from both primary and secondary sources. This study relies growers are losing their confidence in pepper cultivation mainly on account of its non-remunerative nature and climatic changes.
