 Abstract

This research delves into the complexities of the caste system within the evolving urban landscapes of India. Utilizing Census data, scholarly articles, and reports, the study examines the interplay of migration patterns, occupational disparities, social hierarchies, educational dynamics, and challenges in fostering caste integration within urban settings. The findings underscore the entrenched socio-economic disparities among different caste groups, highlighting unequal access to resources and opportunities. However, amidst these challenges lie opportunities for inclusive growth through affirmative action policies and community-driven initiatives. The paper concludes by emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts among policymakers, urban planners, and civil society to create more inclusive urban spaces and transcend caste-based inequities.

 Abstract

Employability skills are a broad term for non-technical abilities and talents that have traditionally played a key role in productive and successful involvement of employees in their workplace. Employers are looking beyond traditional measurement of academic performance and they seek candidates with these employability skills while selecting employees. Therefore the graduates who are preparing to enter the job market should be well equipped with these essential skills. Generally, the employability skills comprises communication skill, team work skill, problem solving skill, initiative, planning and organizing skill, self management and technological skills.

 Abstract

The progress of a country depends upon the quality of its teachers. They are called nation builders. A good principal, magnificent building, sound infrastructure and good curriculum are useless, if the teachers in any institution are not with positive attitude towards teaching. Teaching is a very respectable profession but even then not all the teachers who are in this pious profession like it. Many prospective teachers join this profession not by choice but by chance or due to other reasons. They are disinterested towards teaching profession. They just take admission in B. Ed course as second choice, if they fail to seek admission in first choice like M.B.A., or any other courses according to their liking and they are generally dissatisfied throughout the training period. This study was conducted to study the attitudes of prospective-teachers towards teaching profession. A sample of 100 prospective teachers, 50 from private and 50 from Government B.Ed. colleges of Muktsar (Punjab) was taken through purposive convenient sampling method. "Teacher Attitude Inventory (TAI)" by Dr. S.P. Ahluwalia was used to collect the data. Mean, SD and t-test were used for the analysis of the data. Research findings revealed that there is no significant difference in the attitudes of prospective teachers studying in private and Government B.Ed. colleges. There is no significant difference in the attitudes of female and male prospective teachers towards teaching profession.

 Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood glucose levels, often leading to systemic complications. Alloxan-induced diabetes in animal models has been widely used to simulate the pathophysiological aspects of diabetes and study potential therapeutic interventions. Emblica officinalis, commonly known as Indian gooseberry or Amla, has been recognized for its antidiabetic properties owing to its rich phytochemical composition. This study investigates the effects of Emblica officinalis on urea concentrations in diabetic alloxan-exposed mice, as altered urea levels are indicative of abnormal renal function and metabolic disturbances in diabetes. Male Swiss albino mice were divided into four groups: control, alloxan-induced diabetic, Emblica officinalis-treated, and Emblica officinalis-treated diabetic. Diabetes was induced in the respective groups by a single intraperitoneal injection of alloxan monohydrate, and the treatment group received daily oral doses of Emblica officinalis extract. After a specified treatment period, blood samples were collected, and serum urea concentrations were measured using standard biochemical assays. The results demonstrated that alloxan-induced diabetic mice exhibited significantly elevated serum urea levels compared to the control group, indicating impaired renal function, a common diabetic complication. Interestingly, the Emblica officinalis-treated diabetic group displayed a significant reduction in serum urea concentrations compared to the diabetic group, suggesting a potential ameliorative effect of Emblica officinalis on renal function in diabetic mice. The findings of this study highlight the beneficial impact of Emblica officinalis in mitigating urea concentration alterations associated with diabetes. The phytochemical constituents of Emblica officinalis, such as polyphenols and flavonoids, may contribute to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which could play a role in preserving renal function. Further investigations into the underlying mechanisms and long-term effects of Emblica officinalis on diabetic renal complications are warranted. In conclusion, Emblica officinalis supplementation may hold promise as a natural therapeutic approach to mitigate urea concentration abnormalities and potentially protect against renal dysfunction in diabetes. These findings contribute to our understanding of the potential health benefits of Emblica officinalis in managing diabetes-related complications.

 Abstract

This paper try to explore the extend of ICT adoption among the university libraries in west Bengal, and to identify the key factors in adoption of ICT . another perspective of this study is to application of innovation diffusion theory(IDT) to the diffusion of ICT in the university libraries . Methodology/Design/Approach For this study survey method is administered with structure questionnaire, conducted among the professional staff of the university libraries as well as face to face interview were conducted for gathering data. From data gathered the research has analysed the potential influences on the adoption of ICT, including the attributes of innovation in university libraries .This is based on the attributes of an innovation in Rogers’ theory of diffusion of innovation. Findings: The research findings are summarised after the analysis of data which is collected from questionnaire related to the objective of the study, and interview method during the interviews, including research propositions related to the first research question, i.e. “can Rogers’ diffusion of innovation model be applied to the diffusion of ICT in University libraries”, and findings from staff interviews related to the second research question – “What are major attributes that have affected ICT adoption in the case study library?” Research limitations/implications – Some attributes based on Rogers’ theory were positive, while a few others were not clearly perceived by practitioners, and this needs to be addressed by more careful distinctions being made between the categories in any future research. Originality/value – This research provides knowledge in developing ICT services for librarians, students, and researchers, and anyone else interested in this issue. Additionally, it can serve as a model of using the theory of diffusion

 Abstract

: This paper examines the benefits of taking yoga breaks during study sessions for high school students. The study found that yoga breaks can improve focus, concentration, and memory, as well as reduce stress and anxiety. Additionally, yoga breaks can help to improve posture and flexibility, and can promote overall well-being. The study was conducted with a group of 100 high school students who were randomly assigned to either a yoga group or a control group. The yoga group participated in a 30-minute yoga class twice a week for 12 weeks. The control group did not participate in any yoga classes. The results of this study suggest that taking yoga breaks during study sessions can be beneficial for high school students. Yoga can help to reduce stress, improve focus, and increase energy levels. It can also help to improve posture and flexibility and promote overall well-being.
