Abstract
Abstract
When the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic occurred, the teaching and learning process in schools was transferred to homes through an online system to prevent the spread of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19). The learning process is carried out online using a computer or Android smartphone and the internet. To ensure that the learning process runs effectively, the Ambon city government is obliged to carry out supervision to ensure the fulfillment of education for the population of primary education age in its area. The problem raised in this research is the extent of the implementation of supervision carried out by the Ambon City Government in the teaching and learning process during the outbreak of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19). The research method used in this research is empirical legal research.
The results showed that the Ambon City Government had not supervised the implementation of the online teaching and learning process carried out by teachers or schools as a technical unit for fulfilling basic education for the community in the area. Whereas supervision is part of the implementation of regional authority in fulfilling the basic education needs of citizens of basic education age as a consequence of handing over basic education affairs to districts / cities in the framework of capacity building and character building and civilization of a nation. nation with dignity. This supervision is carried out both in normal and non-normal conditions such as during the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
