 Abstract

Labyrinth seals are used to perform sealing around the rotating Parts of various mechanical machineries. Its work is to minimize escape of fluid essentially gases from high pressure area to low pressure area this is process by building of series of labyrinth teeth which are arranged to provide a close clearance gap between the stator and rotor components of the machine, this may cause a pressure drop occurs across each gap. The main aim of this study is to discuss the Optimization of Circular-Grooved Square Cavity Labyrinth Seal and CFD Analysis Based on ANN Modelling. The methodology for developing two semi-theoretical-semi-experimental formulae and linking them with the ANN technique for obtaining the optimal CSLS is described in this paper. It is concluded that the CFD analyses of the optimal seals confirmed the improvements caused by the cavity shape and captured performance parameter trends. The Pr values of 1.6 are found in the best circular-grooved square and triangular cavity labyrinth seals.

 Abstract

The Kole wetland, one of the largest, highly productive and one of the rice granaries of Kerala, has been declared in Ramsar convention for protection. Ponnani Kole, the study area, is situated in south-west of Malappuram and north-west of Thrissur districts, is the northern most extension of the Vembanad Kole Ramsar site. However, to the best of our knowledge, no solemn attempts were made to study the ecological impacts of these Kole wetlands especially emphasising biodiversity, physico chemical characters and human dependence. The present study is based on field survey and laboratory analysis of selected species. The study reveals the significant variation in stress physiology among plants grown in the area of high ecosystem diversity. It is also noticed, a massive destruction of the vegetation in the Koleland are very high due to natural and anthropogenic activities. Soil erosion also very high in Koleland and this leads to declination of vegetation as well. Study elucidated the physiological changes and related tolerance mechanism that occur in three plants according to the ecological variations during different seasons.

 Abstract

Health is a defining concern in public policy discussions in every mature society, often mandating the deployment of enormous populations. Inequalities in health, access to health care, and the quality/cost of treatment contribute to a nation's economic well-being, given a current biological understanding of health and illness. Health insurance covers all clinical quality, not only medical treatment. There cannot be a sole emphasis on publicly financed health care but also on incentives and disincentives for self-care and treatment funded by private individuals to recover from sickness. In countries such as India, where private out-of-pocket expenditure dominates health care expenses, the resulting repercussions are sure to be regressive. At its core, the healthcare system is viewed as general welfare. Consequently, its demand and supply cannot be determined by the market's invisible hand. Vulnerable people should be prioritized, such as children, women, and the elderly. The disparity in health status among rural and urban regions and across states is well established. As one age, inequalities between urban and rural areas grow more prominent, with a five age gap becoming more evident. Apart from the battle for survival, rural villages are infamous for their lack of access to almost every community service. The prevalent practice of female feticide is expected to exacerbate the disparities among rural and urban children. This paper discusses the present Indian health system. The research will concentrate on the health system and its prospects, including its problems and concerns.

 Abstract

The study was conducted to develop and evaluate different evaporation estimation models considering importance and difficulty in measurement of evaporation.Models were developed for predicting pan and pond evaporation on multiple linear regression, and energy balance method. For pan evaporation, model developed by energy balance method gave results with highest coefficient of determination (R2 = 0.9473), lowest root mean square error (1.1403 mmday-1) with closer association between estimated and observed evaporation. For pond evaporation the model developed by stepwise multiple linear regression analysis gave results with highest coefficient of determination (R2 = 0.9638), lowest root mean square error (0.7377 mmday-1) with closer association between estimated and observed evaporation.

 Abstract

Girgaon Chowpatty, Marine Drive, Haji Ali, and Gorai Creek in Mumbai were chosen for biodiversity evaluation using a strategy for natural geography in coastal regions during the current inquiry. At these locations, 59 macrobenthic mollusks, arthropods, coelenterates, and echinoderms were discovered. The Marine Drive coastline has the highest number of gastropods and clams. There were plenty of Telescopium telescopium, Potamidus cingulatis, mudskipper, and fiddler crabs near Gorai Creek. According to studies, the biodiversity level of the chosen locations varies depending on location, substratum type, and season. At the Girgaon Chowpatty shore, pollution was discovered to have a considerable impact on clams, with many Paphia cloth shells filled with dirt and coated with a black colour.

 Abstract

The improvements in material properties, which improve structural performance, have extended the use of fibre-reinforced concrete to applications in the area of fire. The presence of micro cracks in the mortar-aggregate interface is responsible for the inherent weakness of plain concrete. The weakness can be removed by inclusion of fibers in the mixture. Different types of fibers, such as those used in traditional composite materials can be introduced into the concrete mixture to increase its toughness, or ability to resist crack growth.Since the present design methods and approaches are limited to the property, strength, stiffness and ductility of PCC in-filled columns and beams this study will provide the detailed investigation of the actual and local, post buckling and flexural behavior of SFRC in-filled light gauge steel box columns and beams subjected to various typical load conditions. The wider use of light gauge structural components in many areas of application has promoted considerable interest in the in-filled light gauge members. The main target of the examination is to investigate the conduct of hollow, Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) and Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) in-filled stub, short and medium columns subjected to axial and eccentric loads and bars subjected to flexure. Trial, Theoretical and Numerical investigations have been completed. In the principal stage, trial investigations were completed to contemplate the conduct of hollow, PCC and SFRC in-filled light gauge steel stub, short and medium stature columns. 78 investigations were directed, out of which five tests were on stub columns, five tests were on short columns and 68 tests were on medium tallness columns.

 Abstract

Because of this, plants have played an important part in the treatment of diseases and afflictions in humans from the beginning of time. Herbal medications are becoming increasingly popular for use in primary health care for humans all around the world, owing to their efficacy, accessibility, lack of or insignificant adverse effects, and low cost. The leaves, seeds, and roots of the plant are widely employed as an anthelmintic, antiscorbutic, antiseptic, heart stimulant, carminative, and febrifuge in traditional systems of medicine. Plant components are also believed to be effective antipyretics, anticonvulsants, and antidiarrhea agents, and they are sometimes used to heal wounds and other ailments. This study investigated the pharmacognostical effects of Cleome viscosa L. seeds extract.

 Abstract

For any hydrological modeling, delineation of watershed details like drainage network and catchment area extraction are very important. It is of great need to delineate the catchment area in the form of sub watershed areas to find out the characteristics easily. It is possible to develop using geospatial technologies due to temporal and spatial variations. Automatic delineation of watershed is time consuming when compare to manual method. With the development of Geospatial technology, automatic extraction of watershed details became very popular. Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data can be considered as input data to delineate catchment area and drainage network using GIS. ArcHydro is an add-on tool in ArcGIS software, which plays a vital role in building any hydrological information system for the support of hydrologic modeling in water resources development. In ArcHydro model, there are many sequential dropdown tools available, which are to be properly followed in order to delineate watershed for the management of water resources. Hence, a comprehensive geospatial model has been developed in Model Builder of ArcGIS software to run the model at a time to complete the process to extract the features like drainage network and catchment area from ArcHydro tool. In the present research, Nandyal area is selected to delineate catchment area and drainage network. 30m DEM data was used for delineation of watershed as input data. The major functions of ArcHydro tool are Flow Direction, Flow Accumulation and determining watershed and extraction of drainage lines.

 Abstract

Many studies on social entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurship have been conducted in order to improve the performance of social enterprises. The concept of social entrepreneurship was initially conceptualized based on research on commercial entrepreneurs, however. The analysis of social entrepreneurship also focuses primarily on behavioral aspects. However, research on the nature of value orientation in social entrepreneurship is insufficient, despite the value orientation pursued by social enterprises. Creating social value in a social enterprise must be based on financial sustainability, so blended value has been emphasized in recent years. An analysis of the relationship between blended value orientation, social entrepreneurship, and social enterprise performance was conducted in this study. Based on the results, social entrepreneurs' blended value orientation and performance were mediated by social entrepreneurial activity. In terms of promoting and regulating social enterprises, it is important to focus on social entrepreneurs' blended values.
