 Abstract

The present paper is an attempt to throw light on ancient Indian textile technology. Reference to the theme is found since the time of Indus Valley Civilization. Clothes were manufactured by dint of a few implements such as spindle whorls, spools, axle of spinning wheel, weaver's shuttle, needles, thimbles etc. A few archaeological sites have been discussed where evidence of cloth was found. On the basis of literary sources and foreign accounts the textile technology has been discussed. References to dress and costumes in general and cloth-cotton, silk and linen-in particular are available from early times. Foreign travellers have stated with hence surprise that the stitched clothes were worn by Indians.

 Abstract

Justice remains an esoteric concept inspite of the significantadvancements in legal literature and theory. Right Punitive approach is the fundamental & most conspicuous way to convince a society that Justice has been delivered to safeguard their faith in constitution and legal regime. Once retribution has been achieved, the convict becomes a delinquent child of the State in need of correction and reformation. The following paper, through various landmark judgments, explores how the Indian Judiciary has sought solution to this basic problem of law and if there exists any common principle of penology which echoes in the spirit of Indian Jurisprudence.

 Abstract

The losses from canals need to be minimized to ensure the efficient performance and effective utilization of water. The seepage loss from the unlined canals can be extremely large, even lined canal never seems to eliminate water loss through side and bottom, but by lining we can reduce the water loss. Seepage and evaporation loss are the major components of water loss from canals. In this project water loss is calculated between the Munak canal and Khubru Head by taking the data of the water discharged from Munak Canal and data of the water reached the final stage i.e., Khubru Head. There were total of seven distributaries and data of rainfall and evaporation were also taken into account while calculating the water and seepage losses.

 Abstract

Previously unsolvable cases are now solved easily with the development of the field of medical jurisprudence. It covers in its ambit the provision of evidence for a wide range and scope of cases. Medical certificates are a crucial piece of documentary evidence but are treated as opinions by the Court of laws. The following paper seeks to elucidate on the legal issues involved in using medical certificates as genuine pieces of evidence and how courts have over the years used them to reach conclusions to facilitate justice. We will also shed light on the legal pre-requisites for issuing medical certificates, issued by National and State Medical Councils. These legal guidelines are largely followed today, yet medical certificates continue to be treated as secondary pieces of evidence due to lack of a holistic statute on issuance of medical certificate.

 Abstract

This paper explores the status of education among the Tangkhul Naga prior to the arrival of Christianity, focusing on the cultural, social, and historical contexts that shaped their educational practices. The Tangkhul Naga, an indigenous community in Northeast India, possessed a rich oral tradition and a structured system of knowledge transmission that encompassed various aspects of life, including agriculture, governance, and spirituality. Through a review of historical texts, oral histories, and anthropological studies, this research highlights the methodologies employed in education, the roles of community elders and practitioners in knowledge sharing, and the significance of education in maintaining social cohesion and cultural identity. The findings reveal that education among the Tangkhul Naga was not merely an informal process but a vital institution that fostered communal values and skills necessary for survival and development. By understanding the educational framework of the Tangkhul Naga prior to Christian influence, this paper aims to contribute to a broader understanding of indigenous educational systems and their evolution in response to external factors.

 Abstract

Data Mining [1, 2] or knowledge discovery is a method of extracting interesting, non-trivial, implicit, previously unknown and potentially useful information or patterns of data from large databases. Data mining is a computer-assisted process of digging and analyzing enormous sets of data and then extracting the desired information or data. Data mining tools also predict behaviors and future trends, allowing businesses to make proactive, knowledge-driven decisions. There are two types of data mining techniques; descriptive data mining that describes the general properties of the existing data, and predictive data mining that attempts to do predictions based on inferences on available data. The patterns obtained are used to describe concepts, to analyze associations, to build classification and regression models, to cluster data, to model trends in time-series and to detect outliers ("data objects that do not comply with the general behavior or model of the data"). Since the patterns which are present in data are not all equally useful and interesting, measures are needed to estimate the relevance of the discovered patterns to guide the mining process. The data mining software performs an analysis of relationships and patterns in stored transaction data based on open-ended user queries.

 Abstract

This article attempts to explore the evolution of land legislations in Kerala during the post-independent period. Kerala, renowned for its unique socio-economic and agrarian structure, witnessed significant changes in land ownership and usage policies following India's independence in 1947. This study traces the trajectory of land legislations from the early decades of independence to the contemporary times, highlighting key legislative milestones such as the Kerala Agrarian Relations Bill of 1957and subsequent amendments. It examines the objectives, implementation challenges, and socio-economic impacts of these legislations on agrarian communities, land distribution patterns, and rural development in Kerala. The article also discusses the role of political ideologies, administrative policies, and societal dynamics in shaping Kerala's distinctive approach to land reforms, offering insights into the broader implications for land governance and socio-economic equity in India.

 Abstract

A promising technology to aid in the creation of expansive, flexible, on-demand computing infrastructures is cloud computing. The conceptual and physical foundation for computing of the future has been established by cloud computing. A new business trend based on cloud technology has emerged as a result of the evolution of cloud-based services and service providers. But companies are setting themselves up for failure if cutting-edge technology supporting cloud computing lacks security. The organization's practice of regularly implementing this technology automatically added new risk on top of the already-existing risk. It goes without saying that putting everything into the cloud, or into a single box, will make things easier for hackers. In order to prevent issues like data loss or theft, cloud service providers and their clients should ensure that the cloud is sufficiently secure against external threats. This essay examines cloud computing from an overview perspective, highlighting various security risks and difficult problems.

The study examines the cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions of the challenges encountered by these students, providing insights into the intensity and prevalence of the issues. The research employed a quantitative approach, utilizing a survey instrument to collect data from a sample of 250 college-level chemistry students. The participants were selected through a stratified random sampling technique to ensure representativeness across different academic institutions. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency distributions, percentages, and cross-tabulations, to identify the intensity levels of the problems faced by students. The findings revealed that a significant proportion of students (ranging from 42% to 48%) experienced high-intensity problems across the cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions. These results contribute to a deeper understanding of the depth of chemistry education at the tertiary level and offer valuable implications for developing targeted interventions and improving student learning outcomes.
