The present paper aims at - how the word "refrain" plays a vital role in Mulkraj Anand's Novel "Two Leaves and a Bud". According to grammar, the word "refrain" has two lexical performances: As a Noun and As a verb - as a noun the word means: "a phrase or a verse recurring at intervals in a song or poem, especially at the end of each stanza in chorus." - as a verb the same word means: "stop oneself from doing something." The novel "Two Leaves and a Bud" takes its title from the simple refrain which the tea leaves gatherers, at the Macpherson Tea Estate in Assam, recite as they pick two leaves and a bud: I will make a sheaf Plucking, plucking, plucking Two leave and a bud Two leave and a bud The workers at the work place sing this type of refrain for getting rid of tiredness. But the hidden pathos behind the refrain makes the workers refrain from thinking of their own welfare, human justice as well as human rights. It is an attempt to show the pathetic conditions of the Indian labourers at the tea estates; how they are, brutally, exploited by the rulers and also why the poor workers at the tea plantation refrain from protesting against injustice and inhumanity instead of enjoying themselves by singing the refrain at work.

This research paper investigates the effectiveness of monetary policy in controlling inflation in India, utilizing empirical analysis and insights from existing literature. Through regression analysis and examination of historical trends, the study explores the relationship between monetary policy variables and inflation outcomes, providing valuable implications for policymakers and stakeholders. Findings suggest significant impacts of policy instruments such as the repo rate, reverse repo rate, and Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) on both Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation. Policy recommendations include clear communication, flexibility in policy instruments, and coordination with fiscal authorities to achieve price stability and sustainable economic growth. Future research avenues include exploring dynamic effects of policy changes, sectoral impacts of monetary policy, and comparative studies with other countries' experiences.

women have played diverse roles in times of war, often contributing to the war efforts in various ways. Despite facing significant societal and cultural barriers. It is estimated that close to 90 per cent of current war casualties are civilians, the majority of whom are women and children, compared to a century ago when 90 per cent of those who lost their lives were military personnel.Although entire communities suffer the consequences of armed conflict, women and girls are particularly affected because of their status in society and their sex. Parties in conflict situations often rape women, sometimes using systematic rape as a tactic of war. Other forms of violence against women committed in armed conflict include murder, sexual slavery, forced pregnancy and forced sterilization.Despite this, women should not be viewed solely as victims of war. They assume the key role of ensuring family livelihood in the midst of chaos and destruction, and are particularly active in the peace movement at the grassroots level, cultivating peace within their communities. However, the absence of women at the peace negotiating table is undeniable. This paper examines the struggles of the Tamil women in the civil war of Sri Lanka.

Large youth population, rising living standard, changing lifestyle, rapid growth in ICT, availability of broadband, 4G technologies, etc. Are opportunities for increasing e-commerce in India. But, the economic disparity, poor transport and telecommunication infrastructure, social and cultural attitudes to e-commerce, lack of e-commerce legal framework, etc. Factors inhibit the growth of e- commerce in the quality education in India. E-commerce has still not taken deep roots in Indian education system unlike in America, Europe and China. But it is growing at a fast pace in recent times This research paper examines the challenges and opportunities for electronic commerce as an alternate channel for quality education especially in management education in India.

The awareness of nutrition playing an important role for sportspersons and athletes. Many factors can impact the performance of a sports person during competition which may be related to different domains. The most commonly encountered nutritional related problem among sports person is their failure to consume sufficient total of food energy. Food is composed of six basic substances: carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and water. Each one of these has specific function in providing nourishment for the body. For the sportsman, it is of critical importance to recognise what each does to his body under the physical, mental and emotional strains of competition. The duration and the intensity of the exercise involved in a given sports will determine the principal source of energy used in meeting the work demands of that particular sports. The certain nutrition and dietary approaches to enhance the sports performance and also nutrition is essential for an athletes good performance. The athlete's diet should be high in carbohydrates, moderate in proteins and low in fat. Adolescents taking part in sports have high demands of nutrients due to additional needs of increased physical activity besides growth, development and wellness. The health and nutritional status may be compromised in this population due to lack of proper nutritional counseling. Also misinformation about healthy and nutritious foods by the media targeting school going children can be quite hazardous. The purpose of this review paper is to represent the nutritional needs of adolescents and athletes participating in different games and also to empower and teach adolescents and athletes to know about the importance of nutrition during participation in games and sports.1

Gravitational Waves are a new form of energy that is too sensitive to measure. The study of Gravitational Waves paves a unique way to approach the new era of universal science. It is quite interesting to note that experimental proof of the early theory of Einstein is successfully proven after many years. The paper tells about the concepts of Gravitational Waves, propagation of Gravitational Waves, its effect on objects on Earth and various factors that affect the measurements along with their method of approach to detect Gravitational Waves. Detecting Gravitational Waves is a tedious process and it requires a very highly sensitive experimental setup to carry out the detection as well as on considering the current trend of technology it is observed that detection faces massive limitations. Detection of Gravitational Waves opens up a new way for understanding supermassive binary systems such as neutron stars and black holes and also for studying on Early universe history.
