 Abstract

Abstract: The present study was designed to check the mechanical properties of conventional concrete and compare with 0.5% sisal fibre reinforced concrete. To determine the bond strength between sisal fibre rope and sisal fibre reinforced concrete. To determine the flexural strength of sisal fibre reinforced concrete beam with sisal fibre rope. In this research, sisal is being used in concrete. Short discrete vegetable fibres (sisal) was examined for its suitability for incorporation in cement concrete. Fibres were brushed, lined up and cut to obtain 1.5 cm length. The fibre diameter was observed to be average 0.1mm. Degree of workability of concrete mix with water cement ratio 0.45 had good workability with slump value 50mm, which is effective, was obtained. Materials were hand mixed with 0.5% addition of fibre in M30 mix design and casted in cubes and cylinders and small beams. The obtained specimens were subjected to tests aimed to check the compressive, tensile and flexural strength. The purpose of this research is based on the investigation of the use of sisal fibres in structural concrete to enhance the mechanical characteristics of concrete.

 Abstract

Decision making system in telecommunication industries plays a more important role where it is required to find customer churn. Customer churn prediction requires finding out and analyzing the information about the business data intelligence techniques which can be done efficiently by adapting the business intelligence techniques. Business intelligence provides tools to predict and analyze the historical, current and predictive views of business operations. However, this would be more complex task with high volume of data which are gathered from million of telephone users for the time being. It can be handled effectively by introducing the data mining techniques which select the most useful information from the gathered data set from which decision making can be done efficiently. In this research method, telecommunication industry is considered in which customer churn prediction application is focused. The main goal of this research method is to introduce the data mining technique which can select the most useful information from the telecommunication industry dataset. This is done by introducing the Hybrid Genetic Algorithm with Particle Swarm Optimization (HGAPSO) method which can select the most useful information. In this research, the hybrid HGAPSO combines the advantages of PSO and GA optimally. From the selected information, decision making about the customer churn prediction can be done accurately. Finally decision making is done by predicting the customer behaviour using Support Vector Machine classification approach. The performance metrics are considered such as precision, recall, f-measure, accuracy, True Positive Rate (TPR), False Positive Rate (FPR), time complexity and ROC. Experimental results demonstrated that HGAPSO provides highly scalable which is used for prediction examination in the business intelligence.

 Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to investigate the Common Mode Voltage (CMV) and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) in five level Diode Clamped Inverter using Carrier based SPWM techniques. The common mode voltage exists between neutral point of star connected load and system ground. Various Carrier based SPWM techniques used to analyze CMV and THDin this paper are Phase Disposition (PD) strategy, Phase Opposition Disposition (POD) strategy, Alternative Phase Opposition Disposition (APOD) strategy, Carrier Overlap Phase Disposition (COPD) Strategy, Carrier Overlap Phase Opposition Disposition (COPOD) strategy and Carrier Overlap Alternative Phase Opposition Disposition (COAPOD) strategy.RL load is connected to inverter circuit for analysis purpose and Simulation is performed using MATLAB/Simulink Software.

 Abstract

In general, any good road construction requires large quantities of construction materials from natural resources. Continuously utilization of natural resources particularly the stone aggregates creates future shortfall and environmental imbalances. In view of utilization of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) for recycling of bituminous pavements has got significance now. With the above serious concern, the present study has been carried to use of recycled bituminous pavement (RAP) with new aggregates collected from quarry materials and mixed with bitumen (VG-30) grade. The prepared several combinations of trail mixes of Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) mixture sample were then tested conducted as per MORTH (2013) specification. It has been observed that mix combination of 40% of RAP with 60% of new aggregates is within the specified limits of MORTH (2013) Specifications1. Hence it is found that RAP can be used in place of new formation of roads in Urban & Rural roads.

 Abstract

As business environment is changed and become complex, a more efficient and effective process management is needed. More and more enterprises and organizations are recently trying to build flexible and integrated information systems with web services in order to satisfy the changing needs of the customers. The web service can currently recognized as a new alternative for integrating the scattered information assets within an enterprise or an organization. Due to the increasing number of web service applications and the service suppliers, however customers were confronted with the problem of selecting the most suitable web service. In this chapter the new methodology for marshaling the composite web service satisfying web service Quality of service (QoS) goals are suggested. This provides theoretical basis from which a goal programming model is identified by which web service QoS can be quantified.
