Her novel ‘The Vegetarian’ (Cheshik-juuija in Korean) was awarded with the Man Booker International Prize for fiction in the year 2016. The story takes the readers into journey of exploring different facets of human relations not only with others in a society but also with one’s own body and mind. An individual behaves in a certain way, in accordance to its association with external stimuli. The novella is written in three parts, the novella unravels human psyche that consciously /unconsciously engages in building up a wall to combat with traumas that one’s body undergoes in relation with other humans and civilization which encompasses various needs, expectations, instincts, social system, power structures and its functionalities, hierarchal structures which initiates the victor/victim roles and so on. The novella critically engages the readers to think and question about one’s body and its experiences, mind and its psychological response or receptions towards certain experiences and mechanism that it employs to combat or deal with trauma. This study would focus on the first part of the novella, titled- ‘The Vegetarian’. The paper would precisely focus on the various underlying shades of trauma that a women’s body and mind undergoes while trying to live up to the expectations of the contemporary society .

 Abstract

Optical communication technology that uses light propagating in free space to wirelessly transmit data for telecommunications or computer networking. Outer space means vacuum, or something similar. This contrasts with using solids such as optical fiber cable. Optics technology used with reflecting telescopes which actively shapes a telescope's mirrors to prevent deformation due to external influences such as wind, temperature, mechanical stress. Without active optics, the construction of lengthy of class telescopes is not possible, nor would telescopes with segmented mirrors be feasible. One major challenge in accomplishing the full range of capabilities on a chip is that by definition, no single optical material can implement every desired optical functionality well due to conflicting requirements. Different materials each have their individual strengths, and so to maximise system performance, multiple materials need to be integrated onto a single chip in a so called heterogeneous or hybrid integration process. In this paper discuss about enable to a full range of optical functions and its communication, materials with diverse physical properties must be integrated and processed together and interconnected with low loss. Diffraction gratings can be etched into the wave guide. Long optical cavities are very sensitive to the mirror alignment. A control circuit can be used to peak power. One possibility is to perform small rotations with one end mirror. If this rotation is about the optimum position, no power oscillation occurs.

 Abstract

The Kashmir Red Deer or Hangul (Cervus elaphus hanglu) a member of family Cervidae is presently surviving only under the moist temperate forests of Kashmir region. Most of its population is concentrated in the world famous Dachigam National Park which covers an area of 141 sq. kms. and is located in the foothills of Zabarwan range among the high mountains of the mighty western Himalayas.

 Abstract

Perimenopausal and Postmenopausal symptoms can be defined as a group of unpleasant symptoms which a woman experiences immediately before and after cessation of menstruation. These symptoms include hot flushes followed by sweating, paraesthasiae, which take the form of sensations of pins & needles in the extremities, headaches, irritability and depression. Apart from these, many physiological symptoms also appear which include pain in joints, backache etc. This article would endeavor to understand the psychophysiological aspects of perimenopausal syndrome and how yogic practices and nature cure treatments can help to relieve these symptoms and offer an effective, safe and cost-effective cure as has been claimed by various yoga gurus and nature cure practitioners

 Abstract

Maharshi Patanjali has rightly been as the Father of Yoga. It is strongly believed that Maharshi Patanjali systematized yoga on the basis of the foundational metaphysics of Samkhya. Yoga sutras of Maharshi Patanjali are considered as a key work on yoga during classical era. According to Dr. Radhakishnan, Maharshi Patanjali codified the nebulous tradition evolved under the pressure of life and experience. Yoga sutra of Maharshi Patanjali which has also been termed as Yoga Philosophy or Raja Yoga is considered as the first coherent philosophical system. It is believed to have been compiled between 200 BCE- 200 CE. As yoga darshana of Maharshi Patanjali adopted the concepts of Prakruti and Purusha, metaphysical rationalism and methods of acquiring knowledge, yoga philosophy of Maharshi Patanjali is also called Ishwar Samkhya, owing to the presence of concept of Ishwara or God which is missing in the Samkhya philosophy of Kapila.

 Abstract

Leucorrhoea or white discharge is a complaint with which each woman suffers at least once in a lifetime. It refers to the white or yellowish discharge from the vaginal canal in women. It is a sign of normal reproductive activity in all females and is due to hormonal changes in the reproductive system. But it is also caused due to inflammation and infections of the genitor-urinary tract. Although the severe and chronic cases require long term treatment with antibiotics, mild cases can be effectively controlled by naturopathic treatment, diet and yoga. The following work shows the efficacy of above interventions on the problem of leucorrhoea in women.

 Abstract

Pain during menstrual cycle or periods is one of the most common health related problems being faced by girls today. It may be associated with other complaints or may be independent of other health related complaints. The problem of painful menstruation, which is medically known as Dysmenorrhoea is estimated to occur in 20% to 90% of women of reproductive age particularly young school going girls. It is reported mostly by young girls in their late teens. The prevalence of dysmenorrhoea in adolescent females has been reported to be 67.2% by one study and 90% by another. Girls with this problem mainly seek conventional treatment which includes prescription of antispasmodics containing atropine derivatives and analgesics containing paracetamol or phenacetin. Recent studies have shown the side effects of pain medications particularly on kidneys & liver. This has made the researchers to look out for safer form of therapies. Many researches have been conducted which have shown the efficacy of alternative therapies like herbal remedies, acupuncture etc. in the management of pain of dysmenorrhoea and to improve their quality of life.
